Issue Position

There is nothing more important than the safety of our children. My office is devoted to safeguarding Alabama's young people through enforcement of child protection laws and in strengthening the security of our schools. We have also instituted the Attorney General's Safe Schools Initiative, focusing on new ways to enhance school safety through technological innovation. In 2013, Alabama schools were encouraged to participate by submitting their safety plans which were reviewed by a panel of judges. Eight schools from Orange Beach to Madison were honored for the "Alabama Safe Award: Best Practices" list.
